This summer, the students in Mr. Cripps' class are working on keeping fit with their new exercise program. Debbie Gruber (OT) and Katie Telle (Speech) lead the students in stretching, lifting 1 lb. weights that they made from water bottles, and walking a half mile. We lift 100 lbs.! How? Each hand has 1 lb. and we do 10 repetitions (2 x 10) of 5 different motions (20 x 5). High fives are given all around when we accomplish this feat!
The students suggested names for our group, and voted on the "Mario Karts". We work at this for an hour every Friday morning during summer program. Movement and building muscle tone are beneficial for many reasons -- but mostly, we just enjoy it! Go Mario Karts!!
